Yesterday we had our first taster session for the ‘Linking Lifetimes’ project in Praze-an-Beeble. Thank you to those who came long to find out more, it was a pleasure to meet you all and hear some stories.

Over the next few months we will be running a series of workshops with adults in Praze, looking at different ways of sharing and representing stories. Part of this will involve an exchange of stories with children at Crowan school, something that is extremely valuable for children, allowing them to learn about the past through first hand stories, and encouraging empathy, respect and understanding between generations. Adults will then be invited into the school for more story-sharing, before making something to capture all these stories which will remain in the community.

chrisIt was a particular pleasure to have Christopher Temby and his neighbour come along. Chris attended Crowan school in the 1920’s and has lots of memories or Praze through the years. Here he is pictured age 8 and 94! As he noted “before and after.”

Chris also brought with him some photographs, including this one of his grandmother outside a cottage in Praze.photo

If you didn’t make it along, we’re still looking for more adults to get involved with the project so get in touch.

We’ll also be at the next WI meeting on the 10th August.

The ‘Linking Lifetimes’ project is kindly funded by the Big Lottery Fund.

The Linking Lifetimes project sounds very interesting – we have a small group around 20 of over 50’s who meet every Friday morning at St.Clare. Would it be possible for someone to come and talk to them about the project.

Their ages range up to 88
    many thanks
