A while back we held a recording session in the recording studio at Penryn Campus to help people who had written stories and poems to record these at a professional quality. It was lovely to hear so many wonderful stories about life in Cornwall… One of the stories recorded on this day was by Cornish Bard Trevor Dalley (Map-Trenoweth). Trevor has also provided family photographs to accompany this audio and make this short film-
This brilliant story details some of the changes experienced by Trevor’s family over the past few generations. In it Trevor shares stories of his families experiences of Coronation Cottages in Praze-an-Beeble, where they moved in 1937. Trevor recalls childhood memories of growing up in the area, including helping his father at harvest time, playing around mine shafts and his father becoming a greengrocer.
Trevor has a collection of stories, some true and some fictional, and is looking for somebody who might be interested in creating some illustrations for these. If anyone knows of somebody who may be interested, please do get in touch.
Thank you Trevor for sharing your story- such a great record of some of the changes that people have witnessed over the past century.
